Great question! (And while we’re at it, nice shirt).
We know a bakery without bricks & mortar isn’t exactly traditional, but we think the Hatcher Baker delivery model is a bloody excellent one. Much like online shopping, you order some baked goods, and we deliver them to your house.
But! These baked goods must be pre-ordered with at least 48 hours notice, so we have sufficient time to fire up the oven, gather our local ingredients, ferment the dough, and prepare your goodies to be as fresh as they can possibly be. And, at the moment, we deliver only within a 3K radius of our Fitzroy North microbakery, because, well, we are just one man and one bike, and we tried to get a helipad in the backyard but the council said no.
We have two slots for delivery at the moment:
EARLY RISERS: 9.00-11.00am or
LATE RISERS: 2.00pm-4.00pm
You can pick your slot when buying your product. Please note that our focaccia, fougasse and baguettes can only be delivered in the Late Risers slot, given they are fussy, high maintenance products that insist on watching the Morning Show with a cup of tea til midday. (Oh, and also require a longer rest + fermentation process).

We are a small, one-man show at the moment, so we can only deliver up to a 3-4km radius from our microbakery in Fitzroy North. We currently deliver to the following postcodes:
3053, 3054, 3057, 3065, 3066, 3067, 3068, 3070, 3056
That’s broadly Carlton, Carlton North, Princes Hill, Fitzroy, Fitzroy North, Collingwood, Abbotsford, Northcote, Clifton Hill, Brunswick, and Brunswick East.
Sadly, if you try to buy our products and ship to a location outside of these postcodes, you won’t be able to check out & buy the products! But you CAN pick up, so hopefully the delivery radius won’t stop you from getting your mitts on our delicious grub.
Let us know via our Insta or email where you want us to deliver to, and we will put it on our very extensive 2025 manifestation board.

Please note that ALL our food is pre ordered and baked from scratch. As bread is a naturally leavened product, the fermentation process takes time. We’ve also gone ‘pre-order only’ to ensure minimal food waste.
As such, please order at least 48 hours before you want Hatcher Baker products in your hot little hands! If you want to give us more notice, feel free! You can order weeks ahead if you like.
So, for example -
You want a box of mince pies for Saturday morning? Please order by Thursday 6pm.
You want a loaf of bread on Wednesday? Please order by Sunday 6pm. You can select delivery dates and times upon checkout.
-
YES! Our pick up option has recently changed, and is now from the actual site of our microbakery in Fitzroy North.
We will email you the address upon your order, but the address is very close to Piedemonte’s supermarket as a general guide.

We currently have two slots available for drop off:
EARLY RISERS: 9.00am-11.00am or
LATE RISERS: 2.00pm-4.00pm
We will try our darndest to ensure your goodies are delivered within those slots, but please keep in mind sometimes traffic and trams and cute dogs get in the way, and we may be slightly delayed. Never fear - we won’t have forgotten you!
Please make sure you add any additional info on checkout on things we need to know for your delivery, like if there’s a passcode to a gate, a place you’d like us to put the bread in, or a super friendly cat. Unless otherwise told, we WILL RING THE DOORBELL.
In terms of dates, we deliver on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. You can pick a day at checkout, keeping in mind orders close 48 hours before each day.
-
Our minimum spend is $15.00. This ensures delivery remains free. Thanks for your understanding!

We are open for wholesale, yes, so it is possible! At the moment, the only place you can buy our products (other than on our online store) is David Bros Grocer in East Brunswick village, 10A Village Ave, Brunswick East, and Wholefoods Unwrapped at 869 Sydney Rd, Brunswick.
Please get in touch if you’d like to stock some of our products too! Otherwise, the only place to buy our products is currently via our website.

We’ve just started! The training wheels are on! We’re so thrilled to be accredited by the Victorian Farmers Market Association and to start working with Melbourne Farmers Markets. We were at Alphington Farmers Market in December and have an upcoming January 25 date at the Carlton Farmers Market. If there’s a market you’d like to see us at, do let us know!
-
We do! Thank goodness you asked, FAQ box.
We currently provide wholesale to two grocery stores, and a cafe, and are looking to expand so please get in touch if you’re interested.
We can also offer bespoke catering services! We’ve done big cookies orders for weddings, massive bread requests for 60th birthday parties, multiple lemon tarts for family celebrations.. get in touch and let’s see what magic we can whip up.

All the time, duh. What a question. Baking flourished there, from as early as 300BC! Archaeologists have found over thirty commercial bakeries in Pompeii. Honestly, why aren’t you thinking about the Roman Empire?
-
So do I! Though to horses, which thank god isn’t relevant here (yet. Horseback delivery 2024, you heard it here first).
In all seriousness, all our ingredients will be listed on each product’s listing page. If you have any further questions as to the details of a product please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Unfortunately we can’t cater for any allergies or one-off special requests at this stage, but please get in touch if you feel we should be.
Hatcher Baker is a microbakery operating out of a residential home in Fitzroy North, and thus we cannot guarantee our products will be free from nuts, eggs & all the other troublesome ingredients. Our products may contain traces of those ingredients. Please proceed with caution if you have allergies.
